Paris Burris

Programming Director

Paris Burris (Chickasaw & Choctaw) is a filmmaker and film programmer in her hometown of Oklahoma City. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma in 2016, she spent some years in the field telling stories of harsh realities. But she soon realized her true passion as a storyteller was in telling stories of fictional realities. Now, she makes independent films with her friends, and is an unabashed cinephile who loves discovering and sharing underseen films as a programmer for Rodeo Cinema and the Oscar-qualifying deadCenter Film Festival.

Jonathan Shahan

Media & Operations Manager

Local filmmaker and rabid David Cronenberg fan Jonathan Shahan attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University, majoring in theatre design and communications. During this period, Jonathan learned stagecraft and lighting design elements before transferring to Oklahoma City Community College’s film department, honing his skills as a filmmaker, editor, and cinematographer. Jonathan has worked with leading creators, including Francis Ford Coppola, Gray Frederickson, Danny Trejo, and Matt Damon. In addition, Jonathan has directed numerous music videos for various regional musicians.

Jonathan’s self-proclaimed lack of humor keeps everyone guessing if he is laughing or crying on the inside. When not behind a camera or perched in the projection booth, you can catch Shahan shopping in the junior’s section for another black t-shirt.
